Estel loved doing pencil sketches from the time she could hold a pencil. Her subject choice was mostly animals. The pencil sketches developed into oil pastel drawings, of which she did mostly commissioned work of people's pets, horses and favourite wild animals. Her work was very accurate, capturing the personality of her subjects. The oil pastels progressed into oil paintings. And in 2003, she resigned from her position at a pharmaceutical company to persue her dream of becoming a full time artist. After a few month's preparations, she held an exclusive art exhibition at the Lipizzaner Hall, Kyalami, South Africa. This was a very successful event and she sold most of her stock. Due to the time it took to produce her very realistic art, it was not a viable option to do the art full time. Life happens, but she always managed to get some art done throughout the years. The oils were traded for acrylics and she enjoyed the playfulness thereof. She has entered a couple of competitions and has done exceptionally well. Her approach and output is constantly evolving as she hones her personal style. However, she refuses to be typecast and work hard to ensure she does not repeat herself. No matter what, Estel, from "estel4art @CEDAR", approaches each project with complete enthusiasm and total dedication.
